⚡ Short answer The current Microsoft certification for Azure data engineers is DP-700 – Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Associate . The old DP-203 retired on 31 March 2025. DP-700 tests three areas: implement and manage an analytics solution , ingest and transform data , and monitor and optimise . There are no formal prerequisites, the exam is 100 minutes, proctored , and renewal is free online every year.
